Weekend Workshop Rotterdam 2024
Laying the Groundwork for Creative Growth
In the early months of 2024, We Don't Care, before the official launch of the foundation, collaborated with the Municipality of Rotterdam to organize a dynamic two-day Weekend Workshop focused on audiovisual storytelling and creative production.
The workshop brought together a group of young participants for an intensive crash course covering visual production techniques, campaign concept development, and real-world project execution.
Over two packed days, participants learned how to translate abstract ideas into visual narratives, practiced outdoor shooting, worked with professional equipment, and developed a campaign concept for the upcoming Give Back event.
In addition to the visual work, the weekend also included music production sessions, where participants collaborated with several American producers who happened to be in the Netherlands at the time.
This spontaneous international exchange enriched the experience, exposing participants to new sounds, creative workflows, and professional insights from a global perspective.
While the workshop was highly successful in energy, learning, and collaboration, it also gave us important insights:
The group was slightly younger than the core target audience we envision for future Talent Development streams.
As a result, this workshop helped crystallize a new two-pathway strategy:
-
Inspiration Workshops for younger talents (focused on exploration, play, and discovering passion).
-
Creative Weekends (CW Series) for emerging creatives ready for serious skill development, portfolio building, and professional networking.
The Weekend Workshop marked a pivotal moment: it confirmed the importance of targeted programming, real-world experience, and international exposure for young creatives.
It also set the stage for the development of our Creative Weekends series under the Foundation—aimed at helping independent talents build the skills, confidence, and connections they need to thrive.
